Faculty First Responders monitors the websites that publishes material that circulates within the right-wing media ecosystem and often results in the targeted harassment of faculty. Click on the links for more information.

Campus Reform is a website/media platform run by the Leadership Institute. It pays students between $50 and $100 to write stories that paint universities, administrators, diversity initiatives, liberal students, and faculty in a negative light. 

The College Fix, like Campus Reform, pays students to write outrage pieces about higher education. It is heavily funded by right-wing libertarian donors, including Charles Koch Foundation,  Bradley Foundation, and DonorsTrust, and Donors Capital Fund.

Turning Point USA (TPUSA) is a national student group, claiming 3000 campus chapters around the country. It is particularly known for its confrontational style and for hosting the the Professor Watchlist. 

Young Americans for Liberty (YAL) is a libertarian student group that began as the college organizing effort for Ron Paul’s presidential campaign.  YAL specializes in generating litigation against universities, often claiming violation of free speech.

Young Americans for Freedom (YAF) was founded by William F. Buckley, Jr. to train conservative activists on campus. It specializes in bringing controversial speakers to campus.

Breitbart is an online outlet funded by billionaire Robert Mercer and formerly edited by Steve Bannon, who declared that he help make the website the home of the alt-right.

Daily Caller was founded by Tucker Carlson, and receives millions of dollars in backing from the Koch foundation and other dark-money political donors.

Daily Wire was created by Ben Shapiro, and funded by fossil fuel billionaire Farris Wilks.

Fox News regularly publishes outrage stories about higher education, amplifying many of the outrage stories about higher education.

Washington Examiner is a conservative weekly, published by right-wing mega donor Philip Anschutz.

Campus Watch is a project of the Middle East Forum that monitors the field of Middle East studies within the North American academy.

David Horowitz Freedom Center is run by the right-wing operative David Horowitz, specializing in culture war issues. It publishes FrontPageMag  and the Islamophobic Jihad Watch.

Canary Mission is a group that “documents people and groups that promote hatred of the USA, Israel and Jews.”
